The eastern profile of Y Mynyddoedd Duon (the Black Mountains) in South Wales, on a winter's evening from the Malvern Hills, some 40 miles away. Temperature inversion fills the lower valleys with white mist. Pen-y-Fal (the Sugarloaf) is the lone peak far left, Pen-y-Beacon (Hay Bluff) the prow of the escaprment far right. In between are the summits of Pen Cerrig-Calch, Pen Allt-Mawr, Pen-y-Gadair Fawr and Waun Fach, the highest in the range.
