If you liked my writeup of being on the 2020 MIT #MysteryHunt writing team, you'll love Alex Irpan's writeup of being on the 2023 MIT Mystery Hunt writing team. Thrills! Chills! Image memes! Crises that really make you appreciate some of the internal "milestone" deadlines that the 2020 MIT Mystery Hunt Triumvirate set! (OK, maybe you had to be there.) If you're considering winning Mystery Hunt, I recommend this writeup.

Kudos to teammate at #mysteryHunt for making many metas that leveraged feeder answers semantically and were therefore not very backsolveable. #mysteryHunt2023

I bought 5D Multiverse Chess with Time Travel bc of that #MysteryHunt puzzle. I’m trying to wrap my head around it.
1. A piece can move only if it’s in the present, right?
2. To win, you need to produce only one checkmate, even if that checkmate is through a timeline? Can that checkmate be across timelines in the present?
3. Why doesn’t a diagonal move through time across timelines split the destination timeline into multiple timelines?
With my last houseguest gone, #MysteryHunt weekend is now officially over for me, which means an exciting day of... cleaning up for the board game night I'm hosting tomorrow. It'd almost feel like I have a real social life, if so much of it didn't involve dragging people back to my lair of cardboard.
As for the hunt itself, I think I only helped with maybe 15 of the ~160 puzzles, and only drove 2 or 3 of them. Such is life, being cursed with so many stronger friends. :P
I got to write LOGO for a #mysteryhunt puzzle this past weekend! How cool is that??
Didn't even stay up late working on #MysteryHunt, still exhausted and had to nap today, though moving wet snow around probably had something to do with that. V much not looking forward to the next two days of work.
It didn't make wrap-up, but everyone needs to see the Pokemon art @joecab made for when we were still trying to assemble stuff for the scavenger hunt.
I _may_ need these as valentines?
Hooray! Finished the second round!
Not in time for the ranking cutoff at 3pm, but at least before the wrap-up which starts in 15 minutes. #MysteryHunt
Hunt is (finally) over! Congrats to TTFKATTFKATTFKATTFKATTFKATTTBNL (Team Formerly Know as [...] Team To Be Named Later)!
Also, thank you for not making Codex win! #MysteryHunt
Delighted to announce that I can confirm I was finally successful in leading Palindrome to our goal of Not Winning the #MysteryHunt
Congrats to TTFKATTFKATTFKATTFKATTFKATTTBNL!
I'd like to congratulate my fellow Palindromers for all pulling together to not win #MysteryHunt. You're the best ❤️
