A few weeks ago there was a hashtag going around. #MyTopShelf It is a really fun way to take pictures of your book collection and post them. You could have my top shelf, my middle shelf, my special books. More, a way to post and boost, and let other people share your passion but thank you so much for that list. I love books and I appreciate it.

I’ve just seen an error in the alt text title and author list here 🙄 sorry. Only on Sundays is by Katharine Whitehorn not Katherine Mansfield! This book is from 1966, when I was minus ten years old. I bought it in a second hand bookshop as a teen. Key to my formative notions of what a “woman journalist” might be. #MyTopShelf

The text of the dedication is either an interesting historical nod to male newspaper boss ego or a genuine statement of gratitude and friendship. I’m here for either.

For my #Introduction2, here's #MyTopShelf, which is where all my #UnreadBooks live (although not normally this artfully arranged, if I'm honest, more of a dusty heap)

I can't find anything with hashtags. I know that #mytopshelf was trending so I tried it but I don't get any result. Just an empty list. No wonder I can't find anything I'm interested in. Help !

I need a whole room, my own #library, a place to escape to and maybe free up the other spaces all over the house where I have books "resting". To be fair I have some of my current favourite #books where I'm sat at the moment and on the floor beside the bed for nighttime. I used to pick one book and read it through before reaching for another, now I just read any given book depending on my mood so I have quite a few on the go at the moment. This is the tidy spot #MyTopShelf

#MyTopShelf It’s possible I misunderstood the assignment as my top shelves don’t have books on them (lower shelves for easier access!) However I love this idea and wanted to join in

I resisted the compulsion to edit anything for the sake of authenticity & I find there is great beauty in seeing things as they are. So… don’t mind the dusty ukulele! 🙈

I’ve not long moved here & am still in the process of decorating but this is where I’m at and it’s pretty cosy if I do say so myself
