Weird thinking around , specifically in progress electric designs.

Most designs had been going for , but that's been kiboshed with the recent switch to for north america.

For now I've not seen any plans to address charging for international flights, and the charging infra needed there.

Are we *really* going to have multiple ports on small (<50 passenger) aircraft for charging?

CCS1+CCS2+NACS + {other}?

Also related is how NACS is limited to ~250 kW, vs 400kW for CCS

**CCS vs J1772 EV Charging Plugs | What’s The Difference?**

"The primary difference between (Combined Charging System) and SAE is the charging capacity. The J1772 is a type 1 and 2 plug, while CCS has level three capacity with two direct DC inputs. This means that CCS is a faster charging plug than a J1772."

US had highly fragmented charging structure with three different systems. While China have one and EU with big parts of the rest of the world mostly have CCS. Japan will have to chose a way forward along with many countries and it probably won't be .

The future could be new or continued build out of CCS. Great paper on charging structures around the globe and viability of different options and possible futures:

US is embracing charging standard that currently max out at 250kw.

European have chargers with up to 360kw.

Chinas /T standard seem to be able to go up to 480kw.

A work in progress is joining GB/T and Japanese standard with at least 900kw speed and bidirectional capabilities. Could be backward compatible with CCS.

Charging speed isn't everything though. Efficiency is important also. Is the US choosing the best way forward?

Old CHAdeMO demise in North America was certain long before wave. An interesting development though is the Chaoji/CHAdeMO 3.0 is bidirectional and faster than NACS, possibly it could give Japan and China a common way forward. Do you know if Chinese standard GB/T has that bidirectional function currently?

What companies make OEM (formerly proprietary ) - jacks / harnesses for EVs, plugs / cables for charger companies? If NACS is truly open, Tesla wouldn't control the supply chain, right?
