In the playoff, The Nature Boy took advantage of a premature pull by the Rhino to push to victory.

With Hoshoryu (11-3) fighting for yusho and Ozeki math, Motoharu (9-5) went for a HENKA (!!!) but missed (!!!) and Hoshoryu pounced.
Asanoyama (7-4-3) performed a beautiful throw on Kirishima (6-4-4) making the Ozeki kadoban for Aki.

Nishikigi (10-3) lost to a rookie for the second straight day! Hakuoho (10-3) looked done on the bales, but resisted and settled the resulting belt battle with an elegant leg sweep.
Hoshoryu (10-3) won a belt chess match over Kirishima (6-4-3) pushing him out to keep pace.
