"That means companies like Whirlpool are missing out on services revenue, which is increasingly crucial to manufacturers facing rising input costs."
This trend stung me when replacing a printer.
It comes with a mobile app, which is just another #upselling #nagware and required for an initial wifi setup.
Not only it insists on being "logged in", it nags constantly about #subscribing for a toner service.
The overall UX would be absolutely atrocious if I wasn't running #Linux & #CUPS.
Thanks God we're all moving into driverless printing based on protocols, which makes #vendor #crapware irrelevant.

Does anyone else feel like every app is slowly turning into #nagware?
I think #YouTube really got the ball rolling when they started pushing premium every time anyone looked it's way.
It's like I'm in an open-all-hours market square filled with pushy salesman. The biggest laugh? I'm paying for it.
More fool me, I guess.
