What would you name a logging method that printed log messages such as:
[web] Log message here ...
[sidekiq] Log message from sidekiq ...
`print_tag`? `log_tag`?

Also does anyone have a better name than CompanyVendor? Like what if I want to associate a "Vendor" (really a Company) with a Person or a Company? Is Vendorship a word? Contract?

After an extensive period of careful consideration, Boo/Linux seems an appropriate way to move forward.
What's the inverse of Pascal's Mugging (prioritizing the unlikely but very bad)?

Very nice 😜 You didn't mention "Colossus", so the next time ...
My Discworld names try to be somewhat relevant:
-border routers named for Ankh-Morpork cops: cheery, vimes, angua
-wireless access point: klacks
-printers: teemer and spools - quite proud of these ones 😀
-main server: hex
-current main workstation: vetinari
Phil Karlton said "There are only two hard things in Computer Science: cache invalidation and naming things."
@danimrich Absolut nicht. Nerds würden wohl kein Akronym wählen, dass eindeutig anders besetzt ist und dadurch quasi unmöglich zum Suchen im Internet ist. 🙄 #ASCII
Though TBH it bugs me that we have to "business model paradigm for publishers, creates a way for users to own their experiences" about it... I suspect (not having yet looked at the codebase) that these addons are entirely a matter of worldview and perception; and that they don't *have* to be built into notions of unique name ownership.

I'm tired of the control naming for design pattern classes.
From now on:
It's not an XyzFactory with a Create method; it's an XyzBakery with a Bake method.
It's not a FooBuilder with a Build method; it's a FooFarmer with a Harvest method

So we all know "Client-Side" is how we refer to web vulnerabilities that require user interaction or are only triggered locally, but what do we call the other web vulnerabilities that can be triggered via an arbitrary HTTP request that you send? Remote Web Vulnerabilities? Web App Vulnerabilities?

This is kinda how #Chrysalis started: "I should build a GUI config tool for #Kaleidoscope powered devices".
I will not make the same mistake again, however, and will write this in a sane language. Maybe I'll make it a local app first, too, with the web frontend just reusing most parts of it server-side.
Hmm. Yeah, lets do it local first, with a web wrapper later.
But here comes the hard part! How should I call it? Something Kaleidoscope, Chrysalis or Butterfly-adjacent, but... what?

Hypothetically, if I were to set up a #GoToSocial instance (as a test drive, a possible successor to my current glitch-soc instance, maybe, someday), what hostname should I use?
I'd host it somewhere under .mad-scientist.club, or .madhouse-project.org, likely the former, since glitch-soc is there too.
Hm... maybe a poll? Lets do a poll.

The GNOME project would do well to read this one comment and work to ensure such a thing is not necessary in the future. I guarantee you it will make it easier for developers to get started with contributing to the platform in the future :)
