Als #JohnnyRotten stopt zal hij zelfs even frontman zijn, en gaat volledig voor zijn solocarrière en heroïne verslaving.
Hij verhuist naar New York met zijn vriendin en junkie #NancySpungen.
Op 12 oktober 1978 wordt Nancy dood gevonden in hun appartement,
Op 2 februari 1979 neemt hij een overdosis.
