最近看到了一個酷東西 #Viking #SATADIMM #SSD
出現在 2010 年左右
算是一個試驗性或是小眾型產品

概念我認為可以說是 ASUS 的 #DIMM.2 的雛型
他是基於 DDR3 的物理插槽
上面的顆粒不是記憶體顆粒而是 SSD 的 #NAND 顆粒
SATADIMM 會占用你原有的記憶體插槽
同時你還需要連接一條 SATA 線到你的系統
沒錯
也就是他插在 DDR3 DIMM 上只為了取電而以

Allen 可以想像到這個產品可能的運用場景
類似於 #SATADOM
沒有辦法有硬碟安裝跟電源額外拉線的環境
只能以現有的插槽來擴充儲存空間
那 Allen 就覺得蠻不錯的
畢竟 M.2 也是 2013 以後的產物

但硬傷也很明顯
廠商不會沒事做"額外"的DIMM 在那閒置
尤其是剛剛說到的應用場景
多是在嵌入式硬體
更不可能有這種冗餘的設計

如果當時這個開發商找到搭配的主機板廠商
在板子上做出獨立的插槽
或許市場能更擴大一些

What I mean by free is that free as in #freedom . no 3rd party vendors involved. I got the #gerber s, produced them at PCB factory ( #jlcpcb ) , and soldered, assembled them myself (apart from the MCU's SMD components, which is not feasible at all). So I'm not dependent on any vendor or any component (I may select e.g #resistor / #diode s from a different brand, which actually I did for #NAND #flash #memory modules).

I went shopping this afternoon and saw these packets of tea. What instantly came to my mind was NAND gates. I can't be the only person who'd think that when presented with the number 4011.

ISSCC 2023で、SK Hynixが、「A High Performance 1Tb 3b/Cell 3D-NAND Flash with 194MB/s Write Throughput on over 300 Layers」という表題の発表を行ったようですが、早く何処かの海外メディアが、中身を報道してくれないかな？

普通に考えれば、3スタック構造だとは思いますが、階段構造はどうしたのか？　分割技術に製造技術革新が進んで分割数が増えているのか？　

また、この発表のキーポイントは、300層ではなくて、194MB/sの方ですが、どうやって実現しているのか？　

単純にPlane数を増やしたのか？まさか「CUA 構造（CMOS Under Array）から、Multi-Bonding 構造に移りました」では無いとは思いますが、SK Hynix なので....
