Meh, this 1:9 #unun is not working properly or the connected 450 ohm load has a significant inductance that messes up the measurement 🤔
Also discovered that a #NanoVNA-H can malfunction when its battery is completely discharged, it only booted up again after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery... #hamradio #vectornetworkanalyser

Dipoles?
Where we are going we don't need dipoles...
Today I learned a lot about #impadence #transformers. They are quite picky about some unknown things. A #Nanovna saved the day by letting me measuring before putting everything together.

#hamradio update. Got a #nanoVNA delivered tomorrow which should enable me to do some serious antenna tinkering. Later this month a #truSDX should also arrive which should put me back into action on #shortwave 🙂

Big thanks to @edy555@twitter.com for the #NanoVNA hardware design and @mihtjel@twitter.com for the NanoVNA Saver software that made this analysis possible!
It took a fair amount of time to run through calibration & sweeps with this many points, averaging, etc. but I'm very happy with the results.
OK, here are the #NanoVNA results for my (very) crude antenna system based on a speaker wire dipole cut for 40m.
Right now, with 75 ohm feed line, snow on the roof, etc. it's actually most resonant on 80m, and then 20m. Its 40m performance is actually quite poor.
Preliminary results of analyzing my antenna system with the #NanoVNA match my operating experience.
Next: running some more fine tuned calibrations to set up for some long running detailed sweeps.
Curious to see how weather affects things. Powdery snow on the roof today.
