Great day exploring Naoshima in Japan’s Inland Sea. The Chichu Art Museum wowed us, but no photos allowed. The Lee Ufan museum had some high points, but a more mixed experience.
Much of the joy was in exploring the island by bike and happening on interesting things.

Enjoy :
After visiting the Chichu Art Museum on Day 2 of the trip to #Naoshima, it was interesting to see the construction process via photos on display at the Ando Museum in Honmura.
Saw this eye-catching "Chinu (Black Seabream) of Uno" by Yodogawa Technique while waiting for the ferry to #Naoshima. Apparently it was fashioned from garbage which had washed up on local shores. Close by was a second fish-like object built around a slide for children.

Finally managed to visit the various art installations on #Naoshima. On Day 1 only the Benesse House Museum, Valley Gallery, and a number of outdoor exhibits were open to visitors. Walter De Maria's "Seen/Unseen Known/Unknown" located in the hillside below the Benesse House Museum proved to be an introduction to the temple-like "Time/Timeless/No Time" seen on Day 2 at the Chichu Art Museum.

I got the postcard from #Naoshima in 2008 on my first visit. Other media: fountain pen, water brush, and pearlescent watercolor.
