We've been going to #NapaRose since they opened in 2001 but have somehow never known that they serve dinner at the bar itself. There are only 12 seats, and they fill up quickly. For your best chance, get there by 5pm (the restaurant opens at 5:30pm), and either join or start the line in front of the door. My main course was the goose shepherd's pie. That was so good. For being a second course offering in a smallish copper pot, there was quite a bit of goose inside.

Dinner last night was at #NapaRose . Started with the mushroom cappuccino because I was *not* going to miss out this time. Yes, it was just as delicious as I remembered.
My second course was the always yummy smiling tiger salad. We've been having this dish since it first showed up on a vintner's menu years ago. The plating has changed over the years. After our truncated dinner at #naparose at the #grandcalifornianhotel , we still wanted an additional bite to eat. I'd not seen any mention of this new dish, but a friend had it a few days prior, and it sounded good, so this was sort of my consolidation prize for the mushroom bisque that I didn't get. My first course was grilled octopus w/ poached potatoes & fava bean fritter. Very tasty dish.
#naparose has not had bread service since they've re-opened, and we were glad when we were told that there was bread service, but it wasn't complimentary bread service. We decided to try the rosemary focaccia bread with 3 dips (white cannolini bean puree, sundried tomato pesto, and parmigiana reggiano aioli). The bread was good and thankfully for me not heavy on the rosemary, but it was very oily. /2
