Ironically, what got me across the NaPoWriMo finish line was NOT sharing poetry here for the remainder of the month.🤣 In other words, writing poetry with the intent to share it was useful until it wasn't. A few weeks in, the poetry stopped flowing & I knew the solution was to write poetry just to write it, without any pressure whatsoever. I generally prefer to write like no one's going to read it, which just helps get the raw material onto the page. Revision comes later.

Life’s too short for bad coffee.
Precious brown kernels
In their prime post-roast aroma:
Alluring siren smell -
Come to us, they murmur,
Cross the seas of not quite boiling water,
Press through us, steal our essence.
My mug is warm and full.

Dead zombie crystals infest the cheap hotels,
Dessicated powder packaged in the street corners,
Lifelessly steaming on fiber counters,
Trapped in ceramic or styrofoam,
Muddy dregs trafficked in container ships,
Stolen from the fertile soil
To sate the insatiable crave.

The most frustrating thing about dealing with the neurotypical world for me, is being shamed and ostracized for pointing out obvious lies. As if the person lying is somehow acting socially acceptable, but I am not!?
