Directly, yes. I was making a tangential call-back to an older #NAShow jingle regarding Hitlary Clinton. She apparently made a noisy clippity-clop noise when walking on stone floors in the large public venues she often infested in an official capacity, due to the heeled pumps she used to wear. And the jingle uses a clippety-clop theme.

I admit I was 'way out in the tertiarily obscure reference vector with that one.

On #nashow 1237, JCD mentions #bokeh which @adam mishears as 'bouquet.'

"Bokeh" refers to a blurring effect of fore and background in a photo ("depth of field"), done by adjusting the aperture of a camera lens.

"Depth of field" is range (front to back) where things are in focus. Things outside of the range will be more or less blurred.

"Bokeh" is a #Japanese (暈け) term which literally means blur / lack of focus.

Homonyms in Japanese of "bokeh" also mean "stupid" or "senile."

I dabbled in #investing in #OriginOil an algae oil tech startup from 10+ years ago.

I can at least say the Origin Oil #stockprice plummeted with cheaper oil from the #frackingRevolution, causing Origin Oil to turn their tech toward things like water purification, and to send letters to #stockholders asking for private direct #investment

Adam's rant on #NAShow about inherent biases of Tech companies appearing in #algos is not wrong.

However some evidence was unimpressive.

1) Lady's complaint facial recognition doesn't work w/dark skin & calling it bias: Let's be honest, she is fighting the physics of light. It happens with dumb cameras too.

2) Complaints algorithms trained against current status quo data are somehow flawed? So...the solution is to SJW engineer a preferred outcome when real world data is disappointing?
