@K8lovett - I'm digging Mastodon too. I didn't know there was a #nashtodon until after I hopped on techhub.social server.
The different servers were the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around.
If you are coming from the little blue bird, there are sites for you to help find your friends. This is what I used - https://www.movetodon.org/
It's #FollowFriday, and there are a lot of new Mastodon users, so here are five recommendations for #Nashville folks to follow:
NewsChannel5 Reporter Phil Williams:
@NC5PhilWilliams
Metro Council District 5 Rep. Sean Parker
@seanforfive
Reliability engineer and #Nashtodon admin Nathan Hubbard
@n8foo@macaw.social or
@n8foo@nashtodon.com
Software engineer and transit advocate Stephen Yeargin
@stephenyeargin
Marketing guy and photographer Paul Nicholson
@pwnicholson
Any cool Nashville people y'all can recommend?

@robotsnowfall @cale no curation - the 'federated' timeline is all users known to the instance (everyone that every user follows). A small instance may not have a busy federated timeline, but that federated network may be more focused or 'cleaner', so to speak. Mastodon best practice is to follow liberally.
I'd like to open up #nashtodon to a wider audience soon, which will change that federated timeline drastically. Hopefully for the better!
