2004 and my charity trek to Nepal, rubbing shoulders with the Annapurna range of mountains (but not climbing them - Machapuchare or Fish Tail is sacred & can't be climbed). The Nepali people are something special - gentle, tolerant, but let down by a self-serving ruling elite. They deserve better.
