I have to laugh. Now that I no longer commute, train delays don't bother me. I'm warm, dry and I have a bench to sit on.

The train on which my friend is arriving is delayed 32 minutes. That's sufficient for the larger Delay-Repay partial refundβ€”if we have an extra 45 minutes to fill in the online form. (Talk about intentional design for difficulty!)

Today's excuse is new to me: a problem with overhead wiring.

I have been wondering a few times today what was wrong with my integration as it was displaying no trains today....

@shieldsy05 @TerribleMaps If you think DD MMM YYYY is unambiguous, wait until you see British .

Even though they are in English, they don't use the normal month name three-letter abbreviations JAN, FEB, etc, but JNR, FBY, MCH, APR, MAY, JUN, JLY, AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV, DMR. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APTIS_ti

Oh dear. I was pestering at and their UK transport integration (which has been labelled with logo. The refresh rate of "30 requests a day" (without a subscription) makes it totally useless.
How can a public service API be down to that?

Well, rejoice, it is not. this is just some profiteering BS. the Public service API is here: nationalrail.co.uk/100296.aspx

I guess I need to start coding but this is going to take some time

Are there any relatively high level and easy to use UK traintime APIs? I'm looking at the offical nation rail Darwin Push Feed and it seems a bit too low level for what I need.

A pretty perfect summary of strikes this winter in the context of privatisation of public services, transport, and energy.
