Happy National Tattoo Day! This is easily the worst tattoo I have in terms of craftsmanship, but it's my favorite.

"Anem al gra" is Catalan for "let's cut to the grain"...roughly, "let's get to the heart of the matter." I learned the phrase during a whirlwind visit to Barcelona that changed me forever.

I'll likely have this one covered up with something less crappy, then redo it in a different font and location somewhere else.

Apparently, today is #NationalTattooDay and so I wanted to share one of mine! I got it a couple of years ago in memory of two of my friends from my L'Arche community who have died. One was Pat, a gentleman with disabilities, who always loved to compliment people, telling them they looked handsome or beautiful or needed a raise or a vacation. The other was Katharine who was 74 when she moved into community. Her favorite flower was the forget-me-not. So I got this to remind me of both of them.
