I think what @johndoepe is talking about (correct me if I'm wrong) is that "#American" as used in its #nativist, exclusionary sense will always exclude Jews. So, when discussing @tjcasser's point on the #Conservative/#Maserati movement and #integration/acceptance in American society, they are mutually exclusive terms.
