I won the !

A coworker brought me a 3-pack of frozen natto.
I finally put a pack in the fridge overnight to thaw. Took it outside on the back steps so I wouldn't get yelled at for stinking up the house, and carefully opened it.
Wafted the air over it toward my nose, like you do with potentially hazardous chemicals.
No problem. It had that stringy texture, but this must have been one of the least funky varieties.

*I don't want expensive American artisanal hipster natto. I want everyday Japanese grocery store natto.

**If the product or shipping costs more than the resale value of a human kidney, it's not for me.

After trying out different ways to prepare and I finally found a way that I really like. Kind of a salad:
▪ Natto mixed until it's gooey
▪ Mustard, probably two teaspoons
▪ Rucola cut into pieces
▪ Seaweed in small pieces
Perfect source of plant based and quality . Super nice as side dish or with a sandwich for example.

I tried for the first time today and am still a bit unsure what to make of them. The taste was way less intense than I had expected and reminded me me more of coffee than of cheese. I liked them with plain rice, but don't know with what else to combine them.

I made benedict eggs with natto on top as per recipe. It's good (though I slightly adapted to what was available at home), and I'm glad I managed to cook the poached eggs! I saw a tip somewhere saying to "filter" the eggs to remove the most liquid part of the white.

I have been playing with replicad within natto.dev.

I could easily make it work for 2D stuff - and have a small interface easily.

This makes me think of how it could be used to build a node based CAD software.

My never ending journey to find high quality plant foods now brought me to natto as a great source of vitamin K2 (MK7). Tastes a little funny in a surprisingly good way. The consistency makes me think of alien food though as it's pretty slimey and goey. Why take vitamin K2? Because it makes vitamin D work (better) and helps to absorb calcium and avoids calcification.

For this Sunday's breakfast, we had some home made , spinach pancakes with tomato sauce, butter, and cheese, and home made and soy milk . Good things! I love eating / preparing things that look weird, like green pancakes and fermented stuff.
