@GreeningScience Looking forward to following. I'm a female builder in my 50s focused on retrofit, extensions and new builds using natural materials. Main approach is to get insulation and ventilation sorted, and getting mass into homes so we're heating the fabric and not air. #EarthBuilding: On a recent 19th Century #retrofit project I discovered behind a thin layer of #lime, the plaster was a crumbly, lime stabilised #earth. Days later, replacing bathroom tiles in my 30’s semi - I found internal walls made from #straw blocks, bound by soft plaster. #NaturalBuilding materials are not fringe pursuits. From the many lump earth (#cob, #dabbins) buildings in Devon and Cumbria, to the more subtle use of #clay in #mortars & #plaster these materials are all around us.

I came here as a #TwitterRefugee but actually much prefer the non commercial and decentralised nature of the platform, and I really hope it takes off. I would love to be able to delete twitter entirely. I’m all about data privacy, #interoperability, and absolutely #FuckAdvertising as a basis for the internet.

Politically I’m a leftist but still figuring out my labels. Have my doubts about electoralism but still hopeful we can improve our society without revolution, even if I think that’s getting more and more likely with climate change induced chaos.

I’m a parent of 2 little legends and every decision I make is filtered through the lens of how that will influence the world they grow up in. Also have two amazing doggos ❤️
