I’m *considering* creating native #tvOS app for Apple TV. I’m using #navidrome for streaming music via #subsonic API and AFAIK there’s no such thing for tvOS. Any iOS developers here? I’m experienced with web tech (React etc) but I’ve completed two fairly complex applications using #flutter framework. I wonder how difficult would be to pick up Swift and do this.

Anyone looking for an inexpensive, easy way to run their own #music #streaming server should check out #PikaPods + #Navidrome. I'm running an instance for < $5/month with ~100GB of MP3s (all legally ripped from CDs I own or digital purchases via #Bandcamp). Navidrome has a great web UI, but is fully compatible with Subsonic, so you can stream to your phone using one of the many mobile apps. (I use Play:Sub on iOS because it supports Apple CarPlay.)

Just got the @radiofreefedi stations working in my #Navidrome #music server! Internet #radio support was only added to Navidrome in the last month or so (version 0.49.0). I needed to use the alt links, but it seems to work well. :D

My only wish is Navidrome could show the current track info and sync with #ListenBrainz. It'd make flagging #songs I want to get more info on much easier.

I fixed an mp3 that jellyfin refused to play. navidrome and vlc was happy playing it though.

Anyway, I ran ffmpeg in a container, very simply "ffmpeg -i input.mp3 output.mp3"
But first had to convince sshfs to allow "other" access to the mount,so that I could then bind mount the source into the ffmpeg container.

It works now.
I don't even like the song.

Yes, I have actual work to do.
But this seemed more... important.

More Adventures with Jellyfin. Also featuring Navidrome.

So while Jellyfin is essentially unusable while scanning newly added media, Navidrome ,running on the SAME hardware is 100% fine.

I've started to use substreamer on android (instead of Ultrasonic), since with substreamer I can EASILY(one button) get the thing to play random tracks from my entire collection. Without stopping.

Still don't know how to do that with Ultrasonic (or the navidrome web for that matter).

@dominik I did something similar but went with #Navidrome on my NAS, which supports scrobbling at the server level, and lots client options as it's Subsonic compatible

Navidrome just released a new version (0.49) which supports sharing links, internet radio support and bunch of other improvements. You can now share specific albums/songs with friends without creating accounts for them. Navidrome is simply awesome

Yes, I do realize that Jellyfin also has music support. In fact, I may or may not move to that, but for now, I will give Navidrome a shot.

On that note: Recommendations for a Plexamp-esque Jellyfin audio player for Android? It HAS to support downloading playlists for offline playback.

Even with #MusicBrainz and its audio fingerprinting, it's taking me months to slowly and carefully tag my #MP3 collection.
