A paper map gives you a full overview of the landscape around you that a phone screen or GPS device can never give you.

The #NNAS (https://nnas.org.uk) has providers across the UK who teach people to #navigatewithconfidence. There is nothing more liberating than exploring a new area with a map and a compass and the knowledge that you have the skills to use them. (I speak as chair of the NNAS btw)
