Working on a new topper for a friend's four-year-old to be. He LOVES wild animals, especially tigers, lions, and zebras. I was going to design from scratch, but learned how much he loves Rajah the tiger from Aladdin, and so I decided on a mish mash of Disney animals. I'm going to do a likeness of the little boy, probably dancing with Balloo. I plan to add in a big tree, maybe some vines, and kaaa the snake (time permitting)

Had lots of fun with the space theme cake topper. The four was very important because this was the first year the little boy could count to FOUR. He wanted a two tier cake, so I designed the decorations to cover three levels. The base, the first tier, and the top. #NDBProjectLaser #LaserCut #Craft

Starting on space theme topper. Excited. Will be a two-tier cake. 12 + 8 inches round, each 6 inches tall. So, a lot of real estate for me to play with. Plan (so far) is for little boy in astronaut suit, holding helmet to side, with facial likeness on top planting flag with FOUR on it (four is important because he can count now) with rocket at base with (curved, melted over 12 inch cake pan) stylized smoke. Plus space CONSTRUCTION vehicles, because MUST have diggers, etc. :) #NDBProjectLaser

Working on a "Super Roberto" set of things for his 14th birthday mid May. He's a Mario fan. So I'm part way figuring out the #laser acrylic cake topper. Nothing creative design wise in the Mario & Luigi figure, although I don't see "stained glass acrylic" like I make for cake toppers anywhere. But I've got lots of other things planned, including a banner for Mario looking more like Roberto - glasses, slimmer, more hair, peach fuzz instead of a mustache. :) #NDBProjectLaser

Working on various promised cake toppers all due in May. Having pun with the construction truck theme. Little boy is CRAZY about trucks, so, this is Clark's ConsTRUCKtion site. Based on the family Xmas card with a poem about trucks everywhere, and photos of a cement mixer and a digger "thingie." No promises for cake toppers in April, but four in May. :) Me and my big mouth. <grin> I'm doing 1) Construction trucks for 5-year-old, 2) Super Mario for 14-year-old, 3) Nature/Sunset for 50-year-old (I didn't pick the sunSET theme ;)), 4) Space for 4-year-old. I'm doing a banner for Mario one too. I'm naming it Super Roberto + will make Mario look more like Roberto. :) Will hang Super Mario characters and icons off it. Have to figure out how to hang them tho. :)

FINALLY finished hip hop cake topper and added in a Birthday "banner" which I ended up making into jewelry holder / wall decor, as 14 yo and I wanted it to be more permanent. The brief was "hip hop" - four specific artists, but a combo luxurious look. Ergo the chains with the more delicate banner. The mirror and lotus motif are from artist albums. Oh am now making cake toppers so that they can either slot into a base or tiny tabs, so can be table decor instead if preferred. #NDBProjectLaser

Was just texting with my housekeeper plotting a cake topper for her son's fourteenth birthday. Did a little internet game (I know nothing about his favorite thing) and image research. Excited that I've got a new "jungle" theme for later on this year for another cake topper I promised. :) Nearly done with the hip hop one (due for March 26th birthday) then nothing in April, but five in May! And then the jungle theme in August. No brief other than little boy loves TIGERS. Also lions and zebras. So that's something I'm starting to brainstorm on also now. A jungle cake. TOO COOL. Chewing my nails. I had shipped my pretty pretty pink ballerina cake topper to friend (I'm on East Coast, she's on West) by UPS ground and it was supposed to arrive on 23rd Feb for birthday on 3 March and NO updates on the truck (or train?) that left Colorado on the 24th. I know there's bad weather, but ooof. This is too close for comfort, and may not arrive in time. NO estimated revised delivery date. :(

Pretty pretty PINK ballerina princess cake topper now done. :) Shipped even. Spiderman also shipped. Now back to my hip hop cake design. :) And I've just taken on a TRUCK (as in construction vehicles or monster trucks) one for big brother of the spiderman topper (can't do one brother without the other, right? :)) So I'll be learning a lot about big trucks it appears. :) #NDBProjectLaser #Glowforge #Lasercutting

For something totally different, a last minute quick topper for a little boy. We just saw a photo of him wearing a spiderman outfit. Turns out it's ALL he will wear. So as we already had this design handy - we just updated the name and date (Hubby made the original one) I opened my big mouth and asked his mom if Winston might like this for his cake for his third birthday which is March. Several cake topper projects this month. This one, well maybe I went a bit overboard. Started out with balloon arch. The intelligence was, LOTS of pink and princess. Added info was ballerina. The little girl will be 5. So now it's one central ballerina (her) and four mini ballerinas. VERY PINK. I'm leaning towards dropping the balloon arch and making a simple white arch to go over the little girl with the words happy birthday [name] on it. #NDBProjectLaser #Glowgforge #CakeTopper

Working on cake topper for little girl who turns 14 in March. I've mentioned this project before as she wants hip hop theme. So I've been googling her fave artists. Luckily one has a lotus on one of his albums - so icon one is picked, and also has album called 'The Divine Feminine" which I'm renaming to "The Divine Fourteen." As she's turning 14 and ergo has opinions, this one is NOT a surprise design <g>. We're collaborating. :) Sketch 01, but still needs 3 more artists added. #NDBProjectLaser

SIL loved the acrylic birthday cake topper that I made for her, which is replica of center of one of the quilts she designed & made. She told me the quilts she has been making for her local hospital this year, are for kids with cancer. They use the quilts to keep the kids warm while they undergo chemo. Schnuff.

Also, this introvert is socially brain dead. 1.5 days of houseguests to go. :) Tomorrow is Xmas Brunch & then dinner (as they had covid and missed the real day.)

Sorting photos. Here's welcome newborn topper for same couple for whom I made Winnie the Pooh baby shower topper. Earlier than expected induced birth, so it was a last-minute job (I thought I had 2 more weeks! :)) so now I plan to fine tune baby design so I can make this for others if they'd like. The crate is because the couple's home is decorated in "boho style." I made THREE name signs for her mom to take, as couple hadn't picked out the name before birth. :) #NDBProjectLaser #LaserCutting

Finally finished quilt for part of modular cake topper for SIL's birthday next week. Family gathering (post their covid recovery) for Xmas + a birthday. I also made a sewing machine outline to go with this that includes the text happy birthday on it, but I'm not happy with it. May replace it with camels. TBD. Would be placed off center. I couldn't copy SIL's quilt blue colors so this is just center with the dark, medium, light colors in the same pattern. I like light behind it. #NDBProjectLaser

Doing rethink of my cake topper design. :) Decided the replica quilt didn't look right (difficult to mimic the patterns in the fabrics without doing microscopic fiddly bits) so now thinking of replicating only the center part of SIL's "geometric" quilt design with matching, but plain, darks and lights, placed horizontally like carpet, then putting slots to put a crescent and two camels vertically "on" the carpet. Getting there! ;) Biting off nearly more than I can chew as usual. #NDBProjectLaser

If you see me here today, please scold me, so I get back to my project (designing and laser printing an acrylic cake topper due next week) <g> I'm procrastinating. I've made my first stab at the design (recreating a quilt made by SIL who makes gorgeous quilts) and now I'm adding in Middle Eastern icons and patterns. After that, figuring out the kerf so it all slots in together. Examples of stuff I make I tag to #NDBProjectLaser - not high art, but each topper, I try to up the complexity. :)
