@bookwyrm My wife and I homeschooled our children in response to what we might now describe as neurodiversities, but at least were clear differences from the kids who make school-teaching run smoothly. Each learned in a different way, that would have been athwart the efficient operation of 30-at-once, everyone-at-the-same-grade-level classroom organisation. Some benefits, some mistakes, but no regrets (or very few).

For me, I love that my kids are not part of the abusive behaviorism rampant in American public schools. I love that they don't have to learn social studies through the lens of capitalism, imperialism, and nationalism. And I love that it inspires me in my own ongoing learning.

A challenge is always balancing everyone's support needs, though. Some of us do well with more structure, some with less. Trying to find that sweet balance between routine and flexibility is tricky.

So, folks:

What's something you love about homeschooling?

What's a challenge you could use support with?
