#OTD Henry Luke Bolley, American #Botanist & #Plant #Pathologist, is born.

Fun Fact: Henry helped start #Purdue #Football & played quarterback. He also started the #Botany dept. & the football program at #NDSU.

Dubbed the "Savior of the #Flax Crop," Henry fought #Plant diseases & created disease-resistant #Plants.

In his 1956 #Eulogy, Harlow Walster said,

"Henry was a fearless trailblazer who cut deep & lasting blazes in the #Forest of #Ignorance about plant diseases."

Hello 👋 They say I should do an introductory post so here it goes. I'm a nerd from North Dakota my interests include #reading , #comicbooks , watching old movies on #TCM, #craftbeer, #vinylrecords, and #actionfigures. I'm an #ndsu Alumni and an avid sports fan following the #ChicagoBears , #minnesotatwins , and #DetroitRedWings. Not liking the bird sites new direction so I decided to give Mastodon a try. Right now the only question I have is whether or not the band Mastodon is on Mastodon?
