Our IOLI #Lace lecture today, by Anita Jones, was about the Cone sisters and their impressive lace collection that almost nobody knows about. Jones has images from an exhibit she worked on years ago from a hard drive that was in storage. Very little online.

At least I was able put this detail into #Wikipedia today so someday someone will find it....

#NeedleLace update; have decided to use the roll as is because I Absolutely do not have the tools on-hand to do otherwise. But doing (generally) white lace on a white background seems silly, so I have so blue cotton fabric to hand sew a little cover for it. Fabric that I need to pull the old college trick on of hanging up while I take a hot shower; clearly.

okay, starting to prep for my #NeedleLace adventures: the book I'm following suggested having a cylindrical pillow to keep tension and both hands free. I found this on sale, but I really would like it to be half the size. The plastic can mostly stay to keep it in place, and I'm wrapping it in fabric after. Does anyone have ideas on the smartest way to slice this, or should I just have (a lot) of excess?
