Sometimes it's even more annoying when your neighbours play music in the afternoon that you almost hear well enough to be disturbed, but can't quite make out, than when they play heavy metal loudly at 2 am.

My missus is a little paranoid, and over time she's convinced me that, from observations of our little street, that we might be in a Truman Show.

Now I, too, look for signs, and it's frightening to admit, but she might not be far off the mark.

Her theory, or possibility, has gained credence as the screenwriters' strike drags on. We've recorded a distinct downturn in neighbourly activity. I think the production has been forced to lay off some actors, and cut back on day to day movements.

Most of the houses at night are, if not dark (automated room lights), quiet. Eerily quiet.

Most disconcertingly, however, are the passing cars. They invariably driver by only when one of us comments how little traffic there is in our formerly busy street.

We are keeping matters under close scrutiny 🏠 😉

I have been hopeful of meeting some of the other residents of the Harwood area. Apart from a wave when passing on the single track road, nothing.

I got excited when I heard a quad bike approaching from up the road. I walked to the other end of the garden only to see him, plus dog on the back, turn in front of our garden and go back up the hill before I even got a chance to wave!

Eve is determined though, one place at Langdon Beck sells eggs so she's off to there tomorrow! #neighbours
