Ne-OCR (free at https://sourceforge.net/projects/ne-ocr/ ) just "read" a PDF scan of my husband's grandmother's obituary and pretty much nailed the whole thing (save a handful off odd characters)...This accurate image-to-text transcription was from a newspaper article with 3 columns and two pictures. COLOR ME IMPRESSED. Preserve your newsprint articles, people!
