๐งต Seeing as it's still #NeolithicNovember (and #StandingStoneSunday) and I've already done a thread of Aberdeenshire stone circles I thought why not move on to the Pictish symbol stones I've seen in the county...

Aldourie Ring Cairn at north end of #LochNess - marked on the 1870 edition of the 6-inch O.S. map as "Stone Circle (Removed from east to west side of fence)" ... moved and a tad 'unloved' but still full of beauty #StandingStoneSunday #NeolithicNovember

I've just spotted that it's #NeolithicNovember and a #TombTuesday, so here's an old shot (2011, Fuji GS645S on Ilford Pan F) of the tomb entrance at Wayland's Smithy in Oxfordshire.
Dating to around 3550 BC it is a tomb within a barrow. When first excavated in the 1960s the remains of a dozen people were found within it.
