I have the @MattTheDev account .. but honestly, I like posting everything here. You all are awesome <3 hope folks don’t mind I mix a little RL in with my #nerdbin and #kbin posts.
Little over a month in to running a #kbin instance. Our instance, #nerdbin, has a little over 60 users and almost 80 posts (https://fedidb.org/network/instance/nerdbin.social)
1. Issues I've created on their issue tracker have been closed as duplicates, even though they were not duplicates.
2. I don't like that I get subscribed to *everything* someone adds to the instance. Creates too much noise.
Other than that, the few posts I see via Nerdbin have been awesome! Looking to join a nerdy kbin instance? Join nerdbin! <3
It's been amazing seeing the customizations that @digitalspork has done to her magazines over on #nerdbin -

I *reaaaally* need to up my game on the #Svengoolie magazine! *cries in back end developer*
We're almost to 1 month of running Nerdbin (the 15th I think?!) - and I've been happy to see folks find my little #kbin instance, #nerdbin - targeting anyone with an awesome little nerdy fandom they are passionate about.
We've got folks creating their own magazines, some talking in existing ones. I appreciate everyone!
At the 1 month mark I'm going to post a "month in review" to show off growth, costs, etc, for everyone interested in running their own!
Things on #NerdBin are running a bit .. sluggish. I'm going to grab the latest, redeploy the new code, and things should be right as rain.
Estimated downtime should only be a couple minutes.
Thanks @DrakkenZero for the #kbin pro-tip - want to clean up your #NerdBin UI a bit?
1. Add the #TamperMonkey extension.
2. Add the kbin enhancement script: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/468612-kbin-enhancement-script/code
3. Go to TamperMonkey Dashboard and edit the script.
4. Line 11 add
// @match https://nerdbin.social/*
5. Save it
6. Go to https://NerdBin.social
7. Click the cog in the top right corner
8. Choose your additional UI options!
Where do folks prefer their real-time chat? I'd like to create a space for #nerdbin users to chat, make announcements, and allow folks to have general discourse / community building outside of the back and forth of Mastodon (which is awesome!) in a more real-time fashion.
Dropping the 2 most popular I've seen .. not opposed to IRC though, haha.
