BerkeleyLab scientists developed a pipeline incorporating several #MachineLearning tools to facilitate the study of cryo-electron #tomography datasets. They used the Cori supercomputer at #NERSC to test their methods and further refine the approach. This work could make it feasible to visualize how a cellular structure changes over an organism’s lifecycle.

Today is my 8th #NERSC-aversary! 🎂

On this day in 2015, I first had orientation at the lab proper (NERSC was off-site at the time). Before making my way down to Oakland, I toured the lab site by riding the shuttle. The scary hairpin curves up the hill meant I knew I would never drive to work (after trying the commute on public transport, I changed my mind).

Down at NERSC, it was New (Allocation) Year's Eve, so I couldn't get an account until the next day 😂

@rkdarst @minrk @priesgo @SciCompAalto at #NERSC we also offer #JupyterHub on #HPC using #Slurm. I was not involved in setting it up or running it, but I can connect you with the right people if you have questions.

After a lengthy maintenance, I'm overjoyed to have reported to #NERSC #HPC users that the #Perlmutter supercomputer is back in service, today, the last day before the holiday shutdown. We made it! 😅

(Now I hope Perlmutter doesn't get lonely and demanding during the holiday. Our system administrators will be taking a well-deserved rest!)
