@shibashecurity Check out the TP-Link stuff. I use 5 TP-link APs with their free Omada software at home, and they will do multiple SSIDs. You might need the Omada Controller to set it up, but if you're only going to use 1 AP, you might not need it online all the time, plus the software's free and doesn't have much overhead I run it on a Linux VM with #LibreNMS, #Netbox and #TechnitiumDNS and it's been very reliable.

We've been using #Netbox extensively at our
Data Center Light to make our engineering life easy. Managing the racks, cables, and devices, as well as IPs and VLANs. We can only recommend it & we're happy to provide it to our fellow network engineers.

@cmsirbu Many of our customers are very high skilled IT organisations and some of them are now actively migrating towards #netbox for as their main #ipam / #inventory tool. Some of them running their own DCs, some of them just some 10's of servers, one of them using netbox for documenting larger #wifi networks - quite different use cases.

So in the latest #news: we will make our #netbox #hosting public starting 1st of June. The private #beta went fine and we are happy to be offering a new #FOSS software hosted on #renewable energy soon!

@jac I object to the categorization of yourself as lazy for rebooting. That's just thorough.

Lazy is a copy/pasta of the systemctl command that is at the end of every 'upgrade.sh' output. I should know.

Also, don't forget ASNs suffer the same treatment as Contacts do when upgrading past a certain point (can't remember which version off the top of my head).

A heads up: we are planning to soon also offer #forgejo and #netbox hosting. Both are already running in a private beta, public support should be available in a few weeks.

Admittedly I did a lot of copy, paste & alter params to suit the new functions, but I added a good amount of new functionality that we need to get our big structured cabling audit imported way quicker.

Malcolm v23.03.0 is a release with enhancements, component version updates and bug fixes.

Malcolm is a powerful, easily deployable (via Docker) network traffic analysis tool suite for full packet capture artifacts (PCAP files), Zeek logs and Suricata alerts.

  • Replace Zeek's misc/scan.zeek with ncsa/bro-simple-scan
  • terminate start and restart scripts once Malcolm has started properly (cisagov/Malcolm#240 and cisagov/Malcolm#241, thanks @Njinx)
  • minor usability improvements for ISO-installed Malcolm and Hedgehog (idaholab/Malcolm#155)
    • Added a "Configure Malcolm" menu item (under the "Internet" GTK menu with the other Malcolm stuff) and launcher on the top panel of icons in Malcolm. This runs ./scripts/install.py --configure in full screen. May look at starting this automatically on first boot in the future. (Malcolm)
    • Added Malcolm shortcut to gtk-3.0/bookmarks so it shows up in Thunar sidebar (Malcolm)
