#Netflix1899 😢

I started watching #Netflix1899, two episodes in I love the tense and grim atmosphere. I also like the characters speaking different languages! Although I bet the story is going nowhere (as in #Dark), it's a pity that the show was already cancelled @Netflix 😒

After watching this clip about 1899, Dark, Mandalorian, and IL&M, it is sad to hear that #netflix1899 S2 was just canceled.

I have read too many FediVerse #dadjokes. I read someone's post about #Netflix cancelling something entitled "1899" and the first thought that comes to mind is that Netflix is helping out all of those people wanting to remain in 2022, by deleting a year; and considerately choosing one unlikely to be within the lifetime of any currently living person.

The White Rabbit title sequence is bad enough but ending each episode with a worn out classic rock track is a total vibe killer.

Just finished 1899. Holding judgements yet.. except the map.

In the first episode, we are given co-ordinates for the Promethius and shown a map (#Nfld makes an appearance!), The Kerberos 130nm north of the Promethius, which tracks 7.25 hrs at 18 knots).

Just past the Milne seamounts and south of the Flemish cap. Land is ~500km away, whereas to turn back is ~3350km. So towing the boat back doesn't work out?

Going to rewatch 1899 with the original audio, rather than the dub.

The dub was not great, and I'm usually quite impressed by Netflix's dub work. But also, it was clear that a lot of nuance was lost, not least of all, where characters were from! Why didn't they hire VAs from those nations, to at least have some accents to go by. Accents are good! Variety in all ways is good!
