@meldrian Ausm Bauch heraus würde ich den Zusammenhang bestätigen. Gefühlt ist bei Freunden und Verwandten der Akku schneller leer. Auch ohne eskalierende Betrachtung von Fotos/Videos etc. geht einem der Saft schneller aus. Bei meiner Freundin mehr als bei mir, hab aber auch kein #Pinterest, #Facebook usw. Zudem läuft bei mir #netguard und das blockt auch so einiges an Aktivität weg.

Die #PiHole-Quote liegt hier bei 50%.

netguard is opensource, so anyone can check it's source code to confirm whether it does or not.

#Google is known for its "wisdom" when it comes to #privacy, right? Currently they seem to pressure Marcel to state in the privacy notes that #NetGuard "collects and shares email addresses", what it definitely DOES NOT.

Result: Should Google unlist NetGuard, Marcel sees no motivation to develop the app any further. Understandable, but really sad.

And of course it's absurd to think Google does this to get rid of an app "threatening" its business model, right?

I just installed #netguard again on my smartphone and ... folks, was I busy declining access to trackers, firebase and similar adresses.

Ungut … beider Versionen der App #Blokada sind bei F-Droid verschwunden. Dann sollte ich mir wohl mal die .apk meiner App sichern und mich an den Gedanken gewöhnen, mich vielleicht doch mal intensiver mit der App #FirewallOhneRoot auseinanderzusetzen. Einen Versuch hatte ich schon mal gestartet und dann genervt aufgegeben. Und nein, #Netguard werde ich nicht benutzen.

Das ist dann eine der ROM-Hersteller-spezifischen Erweiterungen, die zB auch #LineageOS hat.

Stock Android braucht zusätzliche Workarounds wie #NetGuard, wo dann allerdings die #VPN-Funktionalität damit "besetzt" ist, da man nur ein einziges VPN gleichzeitig nutzen kann.

Kann wie K9 auch #OpenPGP, gibt's im #Fdroid, wird vom Deutschen Programmierer #MarcelBokhorst entwickelt, der auch andere tolle datenschutzfreundliche und -fördernde Apps wie #Netguard (kompletter oder teilweiser Internetentzug, damit Antitracking und Werbefreiheit für Apps) entwickelt.

Da zahle ich auch gern was für die Vollversionen.
