Hey #devs I have a question. #DecapCMS or #staticcms? I used #NetlifyCMS on a bunch of projects fueled by hope fo a Git based CMS but its been ok'ish. Do I stick with the what I know and I'm using or do I venture out?

StaticCMS appears to be a fork of NetlifyCMS. Anything with an active community is of interest to me for my Hugo sites https://github.com/StaticJsCMS/static-cms

Does anybody have experience with Decap CMS, the former Netlify CMS, to use with Hugo blogs?
I'm looking for a simple solution to creating posts for Hugo, ideally allowing multiple sites, and I'm open to other solutions.
Low cost is great, free is better.

While working with a student, I am being caught up to this entire #Netlify #NetlifyCMS #DecapCMS #StaticCMS cascade and I am so exited.
I have not worked on many web dev projects in the last few years, but the CMS question has always been a painful one for me. I chose Bludit for the last project I worked on but was never all that happy with it.
The idea of a #selfhosted #CMS with a UI that effectively creates commits to Git a git repo is really fun to me.
The inherent super heavy JS reliance remains a question mark, but it does seem like a step forwards for decentralised web conversations and self-hosting projects.

For those of you who were using Forestry as a CMS for some of your websites, you must have received the information about the end of service of the app last Friday.
If you are looking for an alternative git-based CMS, I have successfully tested the migration to Static CMS. It’s a promising fork of Netlify CMS (now called Decap CMS), it’s open source and the team behind it has just released their v2.0.

Exploring #eleventy and getting ready to write about it, #WebC, and #NetlifyCMS soon, along with my thoughts on the #Netlify #Gatsby acquisition. Drop your #11ty knowledge here in this thread! DM/email/Signal etc all encouraged.

Oh well now I understand why #Netlify decided to abandon #NetlifyCMS. #Gatsby #WebDev https://www.netlify.com/press/netlify-acquires-gatsby-inc-to-accelerate-adoption-of-composable-web-architectures/

What,s the CMS in #NetlifyCMS ? You provide a CMS tool while hiding the CMS behind thousands of settings and price tags. After 2 hours, I needed to gave up to look for the CMS. WTF @netlify@t.l3r.me @netlify@birdsite.wilde.cloud
The demise of #NetlifyCMS is really a shame. It's such an important project and there are no real alternatives. I hope that one of the community forks will be successful #WebDev #CMS
Some hero have forked #netlifycms and is bringing it up to date - the glory of foss

Is #NetlifyCMS dead? https://answers.netlify.com/t/is-this-project-dead/70988/43
Looks like there is a fork called "Static CMS" that is launching v1.0 tomorrow: https://staticjscms.netlify.app/
react is everywhere sigh
trying to figure out how to do custom previews in #netlifycms for my #eleventy based websites
(componenet based markdown n stuff - its rad)
Wheres the "load this template and map your variables like this"
Wonder if some edge functionality can do some magic
We're in the process of dropping self-hosted #netlifycms and building a custom one. Set up a static web server for all our #svelte web apps to bypass the build process when clients making changes through a CMS.

@kev I use Hugo and Netlify, and enjoy the work flow. That being said, the time I had #NetlifyCMS running it was difficult to modify the template to accurately preview the posts. I eventually just abandoned NetlifyCMS and went straight to editing posts on the terminal and git.
I am curious to see how your experience is with NetlifyCMS. If you value the ability to edit content on a web interface, my vote is still with WordPress.
Good luck!
