@carnage4life Using the Unbound "local caching DNS resolver" I point blocked domains (w/ subdomains) at a local Nginx web server which just responds to everything on any domain with a "200 OK, whatever you say" response, and point blocks at it using:
local-zone: "twitter.com" redirect
local-data: "twitter.com A 192.168.2.32"
Ta-da. It and its subdomains no longer exist for me.

@carnage4life I can just recommend to sysops and netops folks to do what I've done: blacklist the domain and all related domains at the network (i.e. DNS or NAT gateway/firewall) level.
They might not be "federated", but that doesn't mean we can't "de-federate" them at a networking level. That'll also stop drive-by analytics; sites that embed non-toots from that other site.
Sad that'll mostly impact news sites. …but they don't need to embed, either.

@bluebec It is disappointing to hear that the domain that you've been using for over a decade is going away due to a registrar policy change..
The EPP status is #serverRenewProhibited 🙁
In my opinion, they should have grandfathered you in, or offered to transition you to the second level domain equivalent since it was their change.
I hope this style of bait-and-switch registrar policy change doesn't become common with new #gTLDs

So the tech is here to fix a problem that allegedly should have cleared up "in 8 hours" per an email I found sent 13 hours ago.
The guy who sent the tech request access for the wrong floor AND didn't tell us it was a vendor's tech coming and not one of our techs.
So we had to wake a bunch of people up at 7 am on a Saturday twice because we had to make a new ticket then another one because of wrong info we were given.
Now the tech is on hour 4 of a "5 minute job"

What do people use to deploy Ansible playbooks? We need loga and audit trails when people run them. I’d also like to containerize it. We currently use Jenkins and I pretty much hate it. It’s also hard to get newbies up to speed with its interface. #ansible #networking #netops #automation #devops

Hello fellow #network engineers !
If you use Mikrotik devices in your network, as well as Prometheus to monitor them (or you would like to), you might be interested in what we just open-sourced at @enix :
https://github.com/enix/routeros-rest-exporter
It's an exporter for routerOS that queries its REST API. Yes, another one, but the gotcha is that you can easily add new metrics without touching the code.
I'm here if you have questions !

... might as well write Sigma rules and feed back the stuff I have:

@cyb3rops I'll push them back once I've added and tested all the cases I have detections for.
I'm shopping for a new network and keep forgetting the different Broadcom chip positioning.
