Wir dürfen uns keine Illusionen machen. Momentan ist #fediverse noch sehr menschlich und auch ein bischen nerdig und neu.

4 years ago, I pinned a post saying that I’m hooked on Todon and that I was here to stay. I ended up staying on and off for about 2 years. After that, it must have seemed that I had vanished into cyberspace 😇.
Nevertheless, I came back. I was lucky enough to be able to retrieve my old account and by the looks of things, I won’t be leaving again.
While M*sk was the trigger, there’s a more fundamental reason that explains why I feel at home om #Mastodon.
I admit to being a boomer. The first time I went online was during the late 90-ties. At that time aliases and privacy were the norm. We all abode by the #nettiquette. The internet was a relatively safe space then. Netizens uttered different opinions back then. But we had civil discussions. We learned from each other. In short, it was a friendlier place. Pre-Google and pre-Facebook and Twitterless. #Mastodon seems to abide by the same standards: #friendliness and #nettiquette. That works for me! And that’s why I’ll stick around this time!
