in february there is a book coming out by #mad authors. different authors for each chapter. all the authors are #neurodivergant when i have more info on that book i’ll pass it along. i’m really looking forward to it

One thing these #WritingWonders prompts have shown me is that my novel, whilst excellent in what Shayne thinks and what she does, is poor poor poor in what her actual emotions are. I see another rewrite this year if I want to self-publish.

Went to the gym. Gym was closed. Remembered I’d seen a notice just as I got through the door and was intercepted by a trainer. (Person, not shoe.)

Besides being neurodivergent I am also a woman. I learned early to counter being dismissed or belittled with a quick whip of my tail (or tongue) before people knew what hit them. Because I am a human first. I have never understood being treated differently because I am a woman. And I never will. I am no less or more than anyone I meet in my mind. Some have more skills and knowledge of course. But in moments..I need to check myself. I am not too proud to admit that. #neurodivergant #woman

I took a break from holiday #SapphicFiction to read How to Find a Princess by Alyssa Cole. I loved the humor, adventure, and especially the two heroines. One is a recovering “sentient doormat” and the other is a sexy, #Neurodivergant bodyguard, but they’re both spicy as heck, especially when they’re together. We’ve spent literally 7 hours today talking and hanging out.
Talking about life; spicy brain and #neurodivergant coping mechanisms; how fucked capitalism is; how #socialism is possible; current interests; I did an impromptu #LightingDesign class; great films we’ve seen, & awful ones; the #arts #funding issues in Aotearoa; feelings on beer, burgers, & tea; how great #books are; and other stuff.

I’ve missed this sort of deep chat. And getting to be smart about not theatre stuff.

This is a mental health checkpoint.

With the holiday season upon us and the winter depression setting in I wanted to make sure you knew you aren't alone.
