In the 1950s when my dad was 5, before starting school, he taught himself to multiply double-digit numbers together by counting the holes in both directions on a window screen. He would melt down if different types of food touched each other on his plate. He was brilliant to the point of perpetual academic boredom, and absolutely incapable of staying focused in classroom settings. is totally a new phenomenon though.

Just sit down and write.

For some of us neurodivergent folk, we can't just start writing the moment we sit down at our computers. We need to be in the right frame of mind for us to focus on any sort of , not just writing.

All discussions I’ve heard about seem to state or assume that the condition relates to an impairment the brainʼs facial recognition functions.

This is similar to the argument (pretty well demonstrated afaik) that (or ADHD-PH if you prefer) relates to an impairment in the area of the brain responsible for executive functions.

As I'm getting more aware of how my impacts my physical health, the last couple of months have been informative - and depressing.
I'm highly sensitive to bright light and warm temperatures; motion; noise, especially high-pitched sounds and hubbub. I've been exposing myself unprotected to these for years going to conferences all over the globe and I must realise and accept, that this isn't healthy. So I will cut down massively on my conference participation & travel.
