I'm honestly shocked that it still needs to be said in 2023, not to mention while I do love the this is one of the few things which is worse here (but tbh that ain't surprising)

So here we go:

If you are but still use or any variation of that word really to define yourself or worse put it into your bio, you are part of the problem (and if you need me to spell it for you the problem is it's it's triage, it's the 3rd fucking Reich, it's exclusionary, supremacist and eliminatory rethoric)

Sadly:

The use of the asperger terminology is not up for debate here, if you cannot reflect on that I'm very sorry for you but I ain't got the spoons for your bullshit. Also because these things are tangently related: this is a place, one that is radically inclusive, anything less than that is

( While I do not address the subject in this post includes ALL forms of neurodivergence, if the is a offensive, is even worse than that: it's also a non-word)

Disclaimer: This reply might sound like a personal attack, or a "well actually", while it might be the later, it really isn't meant to be either of these things. The extrapolations wherein contained are my own perspective and an interpretation of what to me the above mentioned toot (and featured article) imply, I am not accusing anyone of *actually* sharing the opinion that I'm feeling obligated to argue against:

While this is an interesting observation/correlation in regard to capitalism, utilitarism, and the weaponization of certain neurotypes in that context, it is also an heavily psychophobic comment:

There is nothing inherently wrong/bad with psycho/socio -pathy (which like most, if not all, are also both very dubious "Diagnostics" btw)

Not so long ago (or perhaps still to most) being meant (amongst other things) being without empathy, manipulative, calculating, conniving etc.

While the label is nowadays seen in a more positive light (something that I believe should be read under the same framework aka realized that some neurotypes, while excluded from the workforce could prove particularly productive, and hence are currently in a state of grace -one that only translates into targeted exploitation, not accomodations btw, something that in my opinion will backfire soon enough). While being is currently seen in a somewhat positive light, all other neurodivergent people are left on the sidecurb, and this saddens me deeply.

experiences are barely distinguishable from that of less acceptable form of (I say this as someone coming from a family which amongst other things is mainly defined by the fact that those that aren't on the are dx'd with some form of psychosis or another, I will not deny that some of these people are highly problematic and abusive, but this not due to their neurotype, if anything more often than not it is due to their inability to recognize it and to internalized Ableism/sanism, in other words while their behavior might be considered as such they were never inherently toxic/bad/evil..

There is nothing wrong with any given neurotype, be it ND or not, nor should these be understood through a moral lens. Moreover, this statement that has been making the round for years, while it might be statistically true, conflates a neurotype with violence, something that is particularly problematic since ND people are by all metric prey to abuse, victims of predatory behavior (be it criminal or not) and very rarely the abuser, worse even it seems a way for neurotypicals to distance themselves from systemic issues that they might be better equiped to fight against, it's a way of passing the buck ("it's not me/us, look at me, I am one of the sane ones, it's them , they are the reasons we can't have good things, if we just got rid of them" etc.) It's a process that scapegoats a specific class of people while otherizing them, robbing them of their humanity and if history teaches us anything this never ends well.

I have no idea wether you identify as ND or not (and also to repeat the point made in the disclaimer, I am not writing this to "call you out" or attack you for that matter),but this is a trope I have seen all too often, one that I have been guilty of perpetuating myself for a very longtime btw, which is probably why I feel so compelled to address it in this manner.
