i've been so intensely depressed lately and i really have no idea what to do about it.

it's hard because everything that's supposed to make you feel better--going outside, exercise, walking, taking a bath, reading a book, reaching out, being with friends--is physically impossible for me because of my neurological disability/damage.

i can't move my head and i'm never 100% migraine symptom free, not even for an hour.

i want to put in the work to feel better, but there's nothing i can even start.

it's hard to not futility spiral when im in a place where i'm willing to do anything necessary to be okay again, but nothing i can do is accessible.

it's like coping skills are on the second floor but there's no elevator. if i could get there, i'd use any of them, and i'd feel better--but i'm stuck downstairs, so it doesn't matter.

mental illnesses ARE NOT chronic illnesses.

neurodivergencies & neurodevelopmental disorders ARE NOT neurological disorders.

neurodivergent DOES NOT exclusively mean neurodevelopmentally disabled/disordered.

autism & ADHD/kineticism ARE NOT intellectual disabilities.

these words mean things, and respecting what they mean is important.

especially with the misapplication of "chronic illness" and "neurological disorder," it makes community building and just living immensely harder for physdis folks.

neurodivergent people have pretty much every word on the planet to make tags out of. i know this because i use those tags.

physdis people really only have our disorders' tags, #spoonie, #physdis, #chronicillness & #chronicallyill, and #cripplepunk.

and when #neurodivergent folks refuse to just use the tags that accurately represent their experiences, it really fucking sucks, especially because as a population, we're way less likely to be able to meet up because *we don't have ramps.*

also yeah #ND and #NDD are two different things, ND is an extremely broad category on purpose.

hello. i am γπνος (or # 29), and i’m the newest member of @bodyetal.

i only exist within migraine auras, migraines, and similar acute neurological episodes, as of now. we have those very frequently, though—we have #CCI, or #craniocervicalinstability which has caused kinking of the brain stem and as a result neurological damage and disability.
