See-through Hummingbird Bobtail Squids - with the chromophore pigments CRISPR'd out - are so transparent that they are readily tractable for in vivo Ca2+ imaging. Plus, they look adorable!

"Wearing a helmet or soft headgear does not protect against concussions, according to experts who are calling for greater public awareness around the issue.

It comes ahead of a public hearing of the Senate inquiry into concussions and repeated head trauma in contact sports, to be held in Melbourne on Wednesday.

Repeated studies have shown that headgear being able to protect players from concussions in contact sport is a myth."

New paper published in Cell Reports

Meirhaeghe et al. show that, when preparing two movements in parallel, motor cortical activity reaches an intermediate preparatory state in between the states associated with each movement planned separately. This intermediate state constitutes the optimal initial condition to quickly execute either one of the two movements.

On February 19, 1910, British neurophysiologist and robotician William Grey Walter was born. Walter is best known for linking learning with a particular brain wave as revealed by measurements by electroencephalograph. But his most famous work was his construction of some of the first electronic autonomous robots.

Hello peeps!

A bit late to the party but finally here and hoping to reconnect!

I'm currently a postdoctoral at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre (SWC) at and will soon open my lab at the Department of Physiology, Development & Neuroscience (PDN) at University. My primary research interest is the of -motion and . I use cellular and systems approaches including , dissection and to understand how the mammalian (mouse model) constructs the sense of self-motion and orientation from various incoming information, particularly and the sense.
