There's something very special about the way terrible jokes simultaneously appall and entertain people.
I wonder if any #neuroscientists have studied this?

@leigh Many (most) of my #Neuroscientists friends & colleagues are unfortunately sticking to twitter for now, some have open accounts on here but are not active… I still have hope though.
Plus, the best ones have migrated for real to #Mastodon 😊

How your brain data could be used against you
Brain stimulation technologies are on the rise. And so is the risk of losing our brain #privacy
These days #neuroscientists can also use #AI-based tools to help make sense of the rest of the #data that is collected. This might help us understand what the #brain is doing when we’re resting, chatting, or eating, for example.

My wife could have told MIT this years ago as I’ve been her case study.. Maybe we are not the best people to do it. Maybe the part of the problem that #neuroscientists are genuinely equipped for is a single pass through the system/the processing that occurs in 300ms before the next saccade/one daub of paint, and we should leave the interesting part of solving the brain to others … 6/n
#Neuroscientists at MIT have now shown that two distinct cell populations in the striatum are affected differently by #Huntington’s disease. They believe that #neurodegeneration of one of these populations leads to motor #impairments.

Our Credibility Lunchbox series gives #neuroscientists the opportunity in three short lunchtime webinars to find out tips for making their research more credible.
Our next series focuses on #neuroimaging - find out how to pregister your research with Roni Tibon, navigate #DataPrivacy with Cyril Pernet, and manage your research data with Etienne Roesch. These free webinars are chaired by Cassandra Gould Van Praag.

Yes!! I didn’t really like the thanatonautes at first but I re-read it when a bit older and it’s actually quite good, really thoughtful and imaginative - and fun
I also recommend Le père de nos pères if you haven’t read it yet! And l’ultime secret (very appropriate for #neuroscientists)
