The observation that experiences retain their identity as they recede into the past---and that this is true for everything we could possible perceive---falsifies most forms of temporal memory. It requires that a decoder for time be available *a priori* for everything that could be perceived.
No way you could get a generic #RNN to have that property. Noggin keeps what and when information separable.
