@markhughes Yes. There are valid reasons why #spaying or #neutering a #dog can be the right choice, but those are overwhelmingly medical, not behavioral.
If the issue is behavioral, then you're far more likely to get better results by training.
If the issue is that you'll have unwanted puppies, there are these wonderful inventions such as leashes or fences. (Yes, it's possible to keep intact #dogs - even of opposite sexes - without ending up with unplanned litters!)
Solve the correct problem.

I'm trying to raise money for #kittenadoption fees and #spaying and #neutering the parents. The animal hospital charges $90 to take the kittens. The #HumaneSociety is taking care of the father's neutering expenses. I have to pay for transportation, multiple trips. The mother is acting like she's already in heat. The kittens are only 8 weeks old. The list for spaying is very long. I have to get her checked out immediately. Please help if you can. Thank you.

UC Davis Studies from 2013, 2014, and 2015 on the health impact of spaying and neutering have since raised significant doubt about the common practice.
This is not a new article. It's from 2019. But it is a good starting point to learn more about why we should stop doing it.
There are better alternatives like vasectomies and ovarian-sparing spays.
