I'm worried about rejoining classes this week after being away due to sinusits (day 13 so far!) So I worry that I'm going to mess up a lot for lack of practice and participation.

I'm normally very self critical so I'm usually my worst critic. BUT when I find myself swimming in the sea of dissatisfaction & self-doubt, I have to remind myself that every mistake I make is an opportunity to correct my course & try again..until I register in my brain an improvement, however slight, and use that revelation to climb up just ONE RUNG on the ladder from my current level of skill. And though I'm a very long way from the top which is PERFECTION, I can happily move in the right direction rather than stay firmly on the rung of shame & defeat.

These two memes I glued together visually describe what I mean. NO I'm not satisfied FULLY but I recognize the gifts that mistakes are & that they're teachers in disguise.
