Me: What’s the significance of Scrooge seeing a hearse travel up his stairs?
Pupil: Well it’s cos he’s just seen Marley’s ghost so the theme is obviously death but also, the hearse could be a metaphor for the fact that Scrooge is dead inside. Oh and if he’s not careful, it could be his hearse.
