Only the second known copy (BNE) of a 1664 essay by a Spanish noblewoman, Maria de Guevara, Countess of Escalante, advising the infant Charles II of Spain on how to restore the nation to a leading role in European affairs, and arguing for an equal role for women in political matters.
14 issues from 1785 of a very rare newspaper printed in Montego Bay, Jamaica, providing a wealth of information about everyday life in the colony, including the trade in enslaved people. While newspaper holdings aren't as throughly documented, none of these issues is known to exist elsewhere.
