Newburyport MA has two halves of a nice rail trail called the Clipper City Trail. Great in combination with the Old Eastern Marsh Trail which connects via the new Gillis Bridge bike lanes.

Massdot just added new painted and distance-separated bike lanes on Route 1 Gillis Bridge at Newburyport in both directions. This links the Old Eastern Marsh Trail with the Clipper City Rail Trail. There's also a raised sidewalk on the east side of the bridge only.
